Opinion: the world doesn’t owe you anything.

Stop making excuses. The world doesn’t owe you anything. Don’t blame you being late on the traffic, don’t blame it on traits such as “Filipino time”, and stop being a puss.

Lastly,

Don’t work for experience or money. Work on yourself. Many people job hop on the lower-end of the job spectrum blaming their lack of success on their boss, their team, the company culture, etc. without knowing that the world will give you what you deserve — not what you like.

Work on your mentality — not giving up even when you’re swamped with work

Work on your priorities — sad to say, weekend beer night isn’t a priority, guys

At the end, know that you don’t need a “job” to “earn money”. — Jhnkvn

Joshua Kennon’s philosophy that the universe will perfectly let you be miserable.

I didn’t start to change until I accepted the fact that I was the problem. The universe doesn’t owe anybody anything, so unless you go out and make things happen nothing is ever going to happen.

The two biggest things I changed was my attitude about jobs and trying out new hobbies. I used to think that if I just waited long enough the perfect job would come along, something where I preferably didn’t have to do much of anything and I could just reddit all day and still get paid. But everybody else wants those jobs too, so they’re impossible to get. Now I work a blue collar job that many people look down on (septic tank truck driver) but you know what? The hours are good, the pay is great, and doing something makes me feel a fuckload better about myself.

I also started playing paintball. It’s an active hobby that gets me out of the house, lets me socialise with tons of people and it’s fun. It’s pretty expensive though, so it’s not the best hobby unless you have a lot of disposable income. Finding something similar is a great way to kind of break out of the slump.

And another thing worth thinking about is that if your friends aren’t making stuff happen on the weekends etc. then maybe you need to be the one to get the ball rolling. Call them and ask what they’re doing and suggest shooting some pool or go bowling or something. The worst part about what I did was I lost touch with so many people, so now I’m basically starting over at 30.

tl;dr Nothing happens unless you make it happen, so make it happen!
