Keep The Mentality Strong, Move Forward

It’s a Monday morning.

The emails have come in.

I wanted to be in Ad Agency X but they said:

"we received applications from many more experienced candidates, some with extensive experience in our industry"

I thought FinTech Y was cool but they said:

"we believe that your current skill set is currently not aligned with what we are looking for in the position."

I thought MNC Z would take me in this time, but they said:

“The candidate pool was highly competitive and making the final decision was definitely not an easy one… we regret to inform you that the hiring committee has decided to move forward with another candidate who better meets our requirements at this time”

That hurts.

Which turns me to Michael Jordan, quoted by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"To become the greatest basketball player, I missed 9,000 shots."

Rejection is redirection. It's all mindset.

Of course it's hard for me to say this at the moment. I put effort into these interviews. These aren't trivial things. But I'm going to think and keep the mentality strong.
